^{I have a few questions about the new gallery thing.

1) Why are my scraps mixed in with the rest of my gallery?

2) Why is that when I attempt to edit the new gallery feature it tells me that it cannot connect to the dA server?

3) Why has this (potentially great) feature been implemented before all the bugs have been worked out?

Some regular readers of this journal will know some of my more...shady past, and how angry I get when people patronise and mock those who have been physically/sexually abused. I sadly have to say that I have been a victim of both (the second more recent) and no I do not want your sympathy.

What I want is your understanding and your support for others who have been in this situation. This is where *wesurvived comes in. It's a support group for those who have been physically/sexually abused. If you have been affected or simply want to help, go now. I promise you won't regret it.

Let me tell you a story and ask you a question. What is your first memory? (and yes, I would like an answer to that ). My first memory comes from when I was three years old. I was helping my mother with toast (read: making a big mess with jam ) and then I was to carry it into the living room to my father. Well, toddlers of course are clumsy and I dropped the toast. You know what he did? He hit me. He hit a three year old. My sister, who was heavily pregnant at the time with her first child witnessed this and erm, shall we say flipped out? She hit my father and told him that if he ever dared to touch me again she would kill him.

Sadly, that is not the case. My sister left home, and me and my mother were left vulnerable to my father. My father is a big man, over 6 foot tall, but I tell you what, I still managed to kick him in the balls when I was 8 Well, what else are you supposed to do when your own father is dragging your disabled mother (she's had countless strokes and has a heart murmur) across concrete?

Am I shocking you? Good. Again, I do NOT want your sympathy. I am a strong person, I have and will survive anything that's thrown at me. I had a recent run in with my father and you know what I did? I gave him a taste of his own medicine. I hit him so hard it left a very red (and probably very sore) hand print on his cheek. That was for all the times he hit me, hit my mother, threw me into a fridge/freezer (I had such a huge bruise on my face from that - even the police photographer was appalled).

The funny thing is though, I can't remember half of it. I know what happened, but I barely remember the trial. I know I gave evidence via a video link but I don't remember it. I just remember a pink room with a one way mirror. The saddest part is, the courts didn't convict him, they just put him on the sex offenders list (that my dears is a completely different story) and put an injunction on him until I turned 18 (and was thus able to hit him lmao).

I used to resent my mother. I hated her for letting him do this to us, but as I grew older I understood why she let it happen. She was too afraid to do anything else. I don't know what the catalyst was to make her move out of the house (I was staying with my auntie at the time) but I'm glad she did. My sisters boyfriend at the time and his friends went round the house (because he wouldn't get out. It's my mother's house) and beat him up badly. What goes around comes around I say. Besides, it got him out of the house.

This was exactly ten years ago. I know it is because I was living with my auntie when Princess Diana died and it's just gone the 10th year anniversary of her death.

Now what I want you to do, if you can and feel the inclination is to pass this link on. Don't let this stop here. I know there are countless other causes to be promoted, but this is one I feel very strongly about. I won't take any shit. I have known people to lie to me about being physically abused by their parents. Why would you do such a thing? Do you think it's cool? Do you expect to have ANY sympathy from me?

The gallery and the not being able to connect to server are coincidental. I haven't been able to stay connected about 90% of the time starting at 4 in the a.m. my till about 10-11 p.m. then for just a few hours I'm able to stay connected and no lag. This happens everyday for that last 2 weeks.
Scraps are still in your scraps but they are displayed in your main gallery only as a default featured or when you click everything. Not bugs per say.

yes the new da feature kinda sucks without a massive instruction manual to read.
