I've been thinking about John a lot lately, especially with the trial (more on that in a minute). It's been 7 months since he died, this past year has just flown so fast. I can't believe there's only 5 months until the anniversary of his death. I sick to the teeth of trying to listen to music because every song (especially Leona Lewis' cover of Snowpatrol's 'Run' reminds me of him and I end up crying

A bit of good news though. John's killer got 15 years. I think he's in his 30's so he'll spend a good chunk of his life inside...hopefully...unless he's let out on good behaviour. Do they do that for murderers? Personally, I prefer the capital punishment approach myself.

15 years doesn't seem enough though, it's not even life. During the case it emerged that the man had attacked another man with a knife - luckily he survived. I think that was the nail in the coffin for his sentencing.

7 months down the line and I'm still in that empty, numb feeling stage. There was one time I had managed to convince myself into believing he was still alive, rang his mobile (we've kept it) and got his answerphone. I started chatting away and only realised half way through that he was dead

In other news, I'm really really missing photography. I am literally too busy and in the middle of February there's not much to photograph round here. I'm hoping to get some really nice portraits of my puppy. She's grown so much and you can really see that she's going to turn in a beautiful adult German Shepherd.

It's just a shame she's attracted to my shoes.
